Fire Weather Warning For NW Florida, SE Alabama

… Red flag warning in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening…
The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay area – Ruskin FL has issued a red flag warning… which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening.
A drier air mass moving into the region on a breezy northerly wind flow will lead to long durations of humidity values below 35 percent during this afternoon… with lowest humidity values bottoming out in the 25 to 30 percent range. These long durations of humidity values less than 35 percent combined with northerly winds around 15 mph with a few higher gusts will increase fire dangers across the region this afternoon.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
Residents should be extra careful with any open outdoor flames today.
A red flag warning is issued when very favorable conditions for the spread of wildfire are occurring now… or will occur within24 hours.
