Quote of Note

“I didn’t leave my mom at the age of seven for nothing. I didn’t spend
six hours a day practising in the Florida sun at the age of nine for
nothing…. I didn’t sleep in little cots for three years, eating
oatmeal out of a packet while playing in the middle of nowhere for
nothing. All this has helped me build character and there’s no better
asset than being able to stand up for yourself.”

Phrase Express….looks good!

I’m in the process of learning to use PhraseExpress, a boilerplate manager/clipboard utility/corrects as you type and works in any program, not just Word and god knows what else application that Windows Secrets recommended. So far I’m seriously impressed.

Here’s what the web site has to say:

PhraseExpress organizes your frequently used text snippets:

  • Expand abbreviations and common phrases as you type.
  • Launch applications by entering text shortcuts.
  • Autocomplete phrases with the predictive text feature.
  • Quickly handle email responses.
  • Works in any Windows program.

So far, so good. If it continues to perform as it seems to, it will rapidly become one of my favorite utilities. The clipboard utility alone may well replace a paid application that I’ve been using for about 8 years…and I use it literally dozens of times a day.

Give this program a look. It’s free for private use. There are all sorts of networking capabilities, including server installation, for those who might be interested. This could be a real boon for businesses that turn out a lot of correspondences: standardized boilerplate controlled from the server? Hmmm….

Here is one of the biggest dangers to Homeland Security…

We forget that except for 9/11 all the truly successful attacks before and after were by domestic terrorists — and even 9/11 was mounted by people well-established in this country.
