Although I haven’t lived in Lake Placid for more than 50 years, this festival is near and dear to my heart because my dad, Captain Webb, was instrumental in starting the caladium-growing industry. It’s a lot of home-grown fun. Don’t miss it! You might even see the Crackerboy in the crowd. (Look for the hat.)
